King Arthur Flour’s online store carries some great Halloween cupcake decorations. For example, you can pick up some very cute cupcake papers, including a spider and web, ghost cupcake papers, and pumpkin papers. Add some of the Halloween sugar decorations and you’re all set. Or what about the cute pumpkin sugar decorations?
If you’re thinking ahead about Halloween parties, you might want to get a set of these mini-cookie cutters: witch, owl, cat, bat, moon, and pumpkin.

It’s always hard to come up with something unique for Halloween snacks. And if you are taking snacks to school or having a party, it’s tough to have snacks that everybody can eat. Some kids have allergies and other food restrictions. The link below takes you to a great article by Megan Sheakoski on Halloween Snacks for a Primary School Party. She’s got some really good ideas. Combined with some of the decorating ideas you can find here on our site, you should be able to come up with Halloween snacks that will satisfy everybody, safely!

ChocolateCupcakes.net
I’m always trolling for new cupcake sites that I think are really cool, or that look like they might turn out to be good resources. I found a brand new site called ChocolateCupcakes.net that has some amazing recipes and cool photographs of nothing but chocolate cupcakes. I emailed the owner and he said he was continuing to put up recipes as time allowed. He has about 50 to 60 unique chocolate cupcake recipes, so we can expect to see good things from this site.
I especially like the simple layout and the easy way the recipes are organized!

This is the greatest web site I’ve found in a long time. WeGottaEat.com provides you with your own account and pages where you can post and share your recipes. The way you enter recipes is really easy. They walk you through step-by-step and format the recipe really nicely.
You start by adding the name of the recipe and a description. Then you add tags. Tags help you find the recipe later. They’re a way of sorting recipes by type.

Then you start adding the ingredients. It’s super simple, as you can see from the picture:

You use a similar screen to enter the directions. The finished recipe looks like this:

I bought Krystina Castella’s book Crazy About Cupcakes a couple of months ago and I’ve been in heaven ever since. She’s just an amazing writer and her designs are beautiful and delicate.
On her site, she has a bit of the history of the cupcake, which is fascinating but, dare I say it, left me hungry for more.
I’m going to keep looking for more tidbits of cupcake history, so stay tuned. In the meantime, I really recommend Krystina’s book and her site.

Actually, I’m pretty good at math, it’s just the whole metric conversion thing I never really understood. And a lot of great recipes online happen to be spelled out in metric measurements. So I looked around for a good calculator.

There are some really good conversion calculators out there. I’d love to hear about any that you like. Personally, I really like the one at Global Gourmet. It’s very easy to use and makes it simple and quick for me to convert the recipes online.

I love the way Crazy Cupcakes uses glow-in-the-dark Halloween teeth and fingers to decorate cupcakes at Cupcake Recipes. She’s got a very simple vanilla cupcake recipe and photos of several, really wonderful designs. Also, check out her Date and Lemon cupcakes, which, while not Halloween cupcakes specifically, look absolutely scrumptious! I’m going to be trying those out soon!

The Coolest Birthday Cakes site has some, well, really cool cupcake ideas. I especially like the mummy cupcakes, but the ghost cupcakes are very cute too.

I love this site and the book by Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero. It’s not only a great vegan cupcake book, it’s a great cookbook, period, whether you are officially a vegan or not. And the cupcakes taste great!
